about orit

I grew up around cameras, lights, film and photographers. My dad owned a camera store. When I was 16, he gave me my first camera and I haven’t put it down since.

After getting my BA in Fine Arts at the University of LasVegas, I started my career as a wedding photographer. After too many Elvis impersonators, high maintenance brides, and formal portraits, I began taking family photos.

I fell in love with photographing children.  Childrens’ emotions are so authentic, their expressions so telling, their spontaneity and playfulness so delightful! I love capturing tiny moments in a child’s life -- knowing that each childhood instant is so precious, so fleeting.

Documenting people and their lives is what I enjoy most. Whether it’s the metamorphosis of a pregnant woman’s body, the magical energy at the birth of a baby, or the unique smile of a child that stays with them their whole life through. Photos help us remember special times in our lives that we might otherwise forget. They are remnants of our history, our identity. They help us define who we are as individuals and as families.
